4^th Congress, International Academy of Sportology

Welcome Message

　We are pleased to announce that the 4th Congress of the International Academy of Sportology will be held on June 1st (Sat.), 2024, at Juntendo University, Tokyo, Japan.
　Medical science is currently at a major turning point, due to remarkable advances in various scientific technologies and data processing capabilities such as artificial intelligence. Regarding the diabetes mellitus, which is my specialty, genetic analyses has been widely progressed, resulting in findings of many disease susceptibility genes and variety of knowledge on genetic factors on the disease. It may not be a dream that in future we will be able to provide the individualized best treatment for each patient by these scientific advances.
　On the other hand, aging society is spreading and also is predicted to be further spread to the Asian countries/regions and over the world. Japan has the most aged population in the world, and measures to the social challenge in this country is now attracting worldwide attention.
　In this context, we would like to provide an opportunity to discuss healthcare from the perspective of “Sportology”. This term is newly defined to scientifically approach the relationship between sports, medicine, and health. Nowadays, evidence is accumulating on the effectiveness of physical activities including sport on prevention of frailty sarcopenia, and dementia, which are major issues in the aging society, and the role of the “Sportology” is meaningful in the aging society. Therefore, we would like to hold the 4th International Conference on Sportology under the theme of "Sportology in Aging Society".

About Sportology

Sportology shall be a scientific approach to the relationship between sports and health and is a newly defined system of study. While using "sports and health" as keywords to deepen the respective specialized sciences involved, sportology simultaneously integrates each of these specializations, creates and presents opportunities where "deepening and integration" are possible and gives back to society more effective and more efficient academic achievements - a strong motivation for us in establishing this academic society. From now on, several further academic developments are targeted, with specialists in each area acknowledging the necessity to establish a group where multifaceted, diverse discussion can occur, leading to this proposal for the establishment of a new academic society called the International Academy of Sportology.

Category

Sportology is an academic field which approaches to sports scientifically and enables each specialized science to deepen and integrate. Sportology includes not only sports but also exercises, rehabilitation, neuroscience, philosophy, and so on. Moreover, we welcome to submit abstracts related to “Aging Society”.

Submission period: 22^th March, 2024

Submission Procedure

1. The abstract must be submitted online.
2. The abstract body should be less than 300 words.
3. Language: English
4. One table/figure is allowed to be added.
5. All abstracts will be reviewed by nominated reviewers and selected by the Program Organizing Committee. The selected abstracts will be published in the program book.
6. A authors whose abstracts are accepted are requested to submit the paper for proceedings published after the congress.
